The newest Oura Ring 4 is still available from Amazon, Best Buy, and Oura for $249 — its lowest price to date — for Black Friday, which is about $100 off the standard retail price. Or you can save up to $150 if you’re going for the gold or rose gold models, since those are down from $500 to $350. That’s if you fancy.
The Oura Ring 4 is best known for its advanced sleep tracking, and I’ve found it pretty useful even though I don’t really like spending $5.99 a month to get the most out of the subscription. That subscription gives you more detailed sleep tracking, 24/7 heart rate data, temperature monitoring, SpO2 sensing, and more. It’s all the stuff you’d want monitored in case something gets out of whack. The latest Oura 4 model improves tracking of oxygen levels, your heart rate, and activities.
Don’t sleep on the deal. Ha ha. See what I did there? Sleeping gadget. Anyway, where was I?
Now that the Thanksgiving dishes are put away and the last slice of pie is hidden in the back of the fridge, it’s time to turn your attention to the next major holiday: Black Friday. The biggest shopping day of the year has started, and as expected, there are tens of thousands of deals staring you in the face. The Verge found the ones that are actually worth considering.
Our team has spent an enormous amount of time looking through spreadsheets and e-mails to find gadgets that don’t go on sale very often, are down to their all-time low price, or both. In many cases, our reviews team has tested these gadgets — either for work or in their spare time — and can authoritatively vouch for their quality. Below you can find deals on everything from the AirPods Pro 3 and current-generation Kindle Paperwhite to some of our favorite non-tech essentials.
There are also great discounts on streaming service subscriptions, including HBO Max, Paramount Plus, and a bundle comprising Hulu and Disney Plus. We update our roundup as we find even more deals, so we encourage you to check back later for more recommendations.

The JBL Flip 7 has returned to its all-time low of around $109.95 ($40 off) at Amazon, Best Buy, and REI. The portable Bluetooth speaker features several notable upgrades over its predecessor, including a more rugged design, an enhanced tweeter, and an additional two hours of playtime. It also features JBL’s AI Sound Boost technology, which can boost the speaker’s volume without introducing distortion, as well as a PushLock system that lets you attach interchangeable accessories, such as the included wrist strap.
Echo Pop
The Echo Pop is one of Amazon’s smallest Alexa-enabled smart speakers. It offers a unique semisphere form factor and can function as an Eero mesh Wi-Fi extender.
The Wonderboom 4 might feature a compact design, but it still delivers big sound for its diminutive size. It also carries an IP67 rating, meaning it’s both water and dust-resistant (it can even float if you need it to).
The Bose SoundLink Plus is on sale for $189.99 ($80 off) at Amazon and Best Buy, which is its best price to date. Despite being about the size of a 20-ounce water bottle, it delivers loud, impressive sound with a rugged IP67 build and USB-C charging. It supports multipoint Bluetooth connectivity and, unlike the Micro, doubles as a 15W power bank, with longer battery life that lasts up to 20 hours. Read our review.
The latest Bose SoundLink Micro is on sale for a new all-time low of $109 ($20 off) at Amazon and Best Buy. The rugged Micro is the brand’s smallest Bluetooth speaker, but it still offers big sound and up to 12 hours of battery life. The Sonos Era 100 is the company’s entry-level smart speaker, one you can grab for $169 ($50 off) at Amazon, Best Buy, and B&H Photo. The speaker has a single woofer and two tweeters, which allows it to play music in stereo — though you’ll get a far wider soundstage by pairing two Era 100s together. You can stream music to it over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, or connect it to a turntable if you pick up an optional 3.5mm to USB-C adapter. Read our review.
Sonos Roam 2
Like its predecessor, the Sonos Roam 2 is a compact and travel-friendly Bluetooth speaker that easily syncs up with Sonos’ home audio ecosystem via Wi-Fi. While it looks much like the original, the Roam 2 has some small quality-of-life improvements, like a separate button for Bluetooth connections. Read our hands-on impressions.
You can pick up Sonos’ Era 300 at Amazon, Best Buy, and B&H Photo for $379 ($100 off), which is $20 shy of the smart speaker’s lowest price to date. Microsoft’s slightly smaller, entry-level Surface Laptop trims some of the size and a few features from its bigger 13.8-inch counterpart, but it maintains excellent battery life and solid performance. Read our review.
In addition to the base-model 13-inch Surface Laptop hitting a new low of $549.99 ($350 off) at Best Buy and Amazon, and the same model with 512GB storage is $749.99 ($250 off) at Amazon.
If you want a Surface with a slightly bigger, nicer display and a higher-end Snapdragon X Elite processor, the Surface Laptop 7th Edition (13.8-inch) from 2024 is on sale for $899.99 ($500 off) at Best Buy and Amazon. It’s still a great machine if you prioritize battery life on Windows and want a nice screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and 2304 x 1536 resolution. Read our review.
Lenovo’s Legion 5 gaming laptop is a well-rounded entry-level gaming laptop with a unique twist: it has a 16:10 aspect ratio OLED screen and costs just $999.99 at Walmart during Black Friday. Its specs can’t run every game at high settings, but it’s no slouch, either, with its AMD Ryzen 7 260 AI processor, RTX 5060 GPU, 16GB of DDR5 RAM, and 512GB SSD.
Microsoft Surface Pro 12-inch
Microsoft’s latest Surface Pro is smaller, with a new design and updated keyboard. It’s powered by Qualcomm’s Arm64 Snapdragon X Plus chip. Read our review.
Microsoft’s flagship 13-inch Surface Pro is also on a big discount, selling for as low as $749.99 ($450 off) at Microsoft with a 10-core Snapdragon X Plus chip, 16GB of RAM, and 512GB SSD. It’s quite a deal, though the keyboard and stylus are sold separately. The convertible tablet has great battery life and solid performance.
The Asus Zenbook A14 is selling for an all-time low of $549.99 ($450 off) at Best Buy. If you want a super-light laptop with an Arm-based Snapdragon chip for long battery life, the Zenbook is an impressive offering — especially since it has an OLED display to boot. I first handled this thing at CES, and the combination of its lightweight 2.4-pound chassis, unique finish with earthy colors, port selection, and OLED screen was really impressive. Now, at this price? It’s quite compelling.
I’m currently testing the 14-inch HP OmniBook 5 and liking it, especially for the value it offers. It’s very affordable for a laptop with an OLED display and marathon battery life, and it’s just $529.99 ($170 off MSRP) at Amazon and direct from HP. Its base Snapdragon X1 Plus chip isn’t very speedy, but it’s manageable if you’re not going too wild on multitasking. But the star of the show is this nice 1920 x 1200 OLED panel for such a low, low price.
Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 (2025)
Asus’ ROG Zephyrus G14 is the go-to choice for a portable gaming machine that’s great at regular laptop duties. It’s got a lovely OLED display, great keyboard and trackpad, and solid battery life. The base model with RTX 5060 graphics is fairly thin at around 0.63 inches, while the highest-end model with RTX 5070 Ti is a little thicker.
The base Asus ROG Strix G16 gaming laptop with a last-gen Intel Raptor Lake 14650HX CPU, RTX 5060 GPU, 16GB of RAM, and 1TB SSD is $1,199.99 ($300 off) at Amazon. For a higher-end model that doesn’t skyrocket in price, the Strix G16 with AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX and RTX 5070 Ti is $1,599.99 ($400 off) at Best Buy. Strix models are much chunkier than their ROG Zephyrus cousins, but they’re a better deal if you prioritize performance over portability.
Lenovo Legion Pro 7i (16-inch, Intel)
Lenovo’s Legion Pro 7i is a well built gaming laptop with a lovely 2.5K OLED display and a powerful RTX 5080 GPU, enough to handle 4K gaming on an external monitor. It’s only major downsides are a lack of face or fingerprint unlocking and Lenovo’s tendency to pre-load some annoying bloatware.
The Lenovo Legion 7i above is one of my preferred gaming laptops if you like a beefy boy with high-end RTX 5080 graphics, but a solid alternative for less is the similarly-specced HP Omen Max 16. The Omen Max 16 with RTX 5080 graphics, 32GB of RAM, and 1TB SSD is just $1,999.99 ($1,300 off) direct from HP. It’s also at Best Buy with a 2TB SSD for $2,599.99 ($560 off), but the one at HP is the screaming deal that you should nab before it’s gone (you can always do your own SSD upgrade later).
HP Victus 15 (2025, RTX 4050)
The Victus 15 is a popular, budget-friendly gaming laptop that now comes with RTX 4050 graphics, more RAM, and an improved 144Hz screen.
Razer’s latest and greatest version of its Blade 16 laptop returns to a thinner, more travel-friendly chassis. It comes with RTX 50-series GPU options but each configuration features an excellent OLED display. Read our review.
The closest competitor to the Acer Chromebook Plus Spin 514 is the Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14, which is on sale for a new low of $599.99 ($50 off) direct from Lenovo. It’s the base model with a non-touch OLED display, 12GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and the power-sipping MediaTek Kompanio Ultra 910 processor. The higher-end $749 model with a touchscreen that I tested in my review is slightly better, but these kinds of Chromebooks rarely go on sale.

One of the Liberty 4 Pro’s standout features is their upgraded charging case, which has a screen to show battery life, adjust active noise cancellation, and toggle the handy transparency mode settings on / off without grabbing your phone. The earbuds also offer about 7.5 hours of battery life with ANC disabled, along with a barometric sensor that takes into account changing air pressure for improved performance on flights.
The Nothing Ear Open feature an open-ear style design that rests securely in your outer ear rather than inside of your ear canals, making it easier to hear your surroundings. And right now, they’re down to an all-time low of $94.05 ($55 off) at Amazon, or just a few bucks more on Nothing’s website. Like other open-ear options, the Ear Open prioritize safety over sound quality, but they still offer decent sound, excellent voice call quality, and up to eight hours on a full charge. They also support multipoint Bluetooth and a “Low Lag Mode” for gaming, which will automatically activate if you own a Nothing Phone.

Bose QuietComfort Headphones
Bose’s QuietComfort Headphones, which replace the QuietComfort 45, have adjustable noise cancellation and the ability to set custom modes. However, they lack immersive audio mode and the higher-quality Bluetooth found in the QuietComfort Ultra Headphones.
Sony’s latest pair of flagship headphones feature improved comfort, better noise cancellation, and the ability to charge while in use. They even fold down for travel, which can’t be said about the last-gen XM5. Read our initial impressions.
The AirPods Max with USB-C have returned to around $429 ($120 off) at Amazon, Walmart, and Best Buy — their lowest price to date. Apple’s revised over-ear headphones are similar to the original model from 2020 but offer a few new color options and support for USB-C charging (instead of Lightning). Read our original review.
The Beats Studio Pro are a great alternative to the AirPods Max, and right now, they’re on sale at Amazon and Best Buy for $149.99 ($200 off), their best price to date. The over-ear headphones include features like ANC, a transparency mode, and support for lossless audio. However, the Studio Pro’s plastic build quality isn’t nearly as nice as that of the AirPods Max, which relies on aluminum and stainless steel. That said, the Studio Pro support native iOS and Android features like other Beats headphones, including the ability to track them down via their respective Find My services. Read our review.

While the WH-1000XM5 are no longer the flagship model, Sony’s last-gen headphones are still worth considering, especially at a discount. Right now, you can snag a pair in multiple colors for an all-time low of around $248 ($151 off) from Amazon, Best Buy, and Sony. The XM5 offer top-notch active noise cancellation, excellent sound, and some of the best voice call quality around. They also offer multipoint connectivity, a transparency mode, and Sony’s Speak to Chat feature, which will automatically pause whatever you’re listening to when you begin talking. The only real downside is that, unlike the older XM4 and newer XM6, they don’t fold down, making them a little harder to pack. Read our review.
Despite being more than five years old, Sony’s WH-1000XM4 remain a terrific pair of noise-canceling headphones you can pick up at Best Buy and Walmart for $159.99 ($190 off) — their best price of the year. The XM4 are a great buy if you don’t need the latest tech, with up to 30 hours of battery life and great ANC, even if they can’t quite compete with Sony’s newer models. They also support multipoint Bluetooth and the aforementioned Speak to Chat feature, which is convenient to have in a busy office. Read our review.

They also include a control called the energy slider, which can adjust the treble and bass without having to jump into Nothing’s app. Whereas the Nothing Phone 1 have a retro look, though, the Headphone Pro feature a more traditional design, complete with soft curves and round earcups.

The OpenRun Pro 2 are Shokz’s best bone conduction headphones yet, with better sound and more bass than their predecessor. Our reviewer Victoria Song praised their cozy fit as well as their USB-C charging (goodbye, proprietary charger!). Read our review.
If you don’t like the headband design of the OpenRun Pro 2, the Shokz OpenFit 2 Plus take a different approach. The wireless earbuds are relatively new, but you can already grab them for a new low of around $159.95 ($40 off) from Amazon, Best Buy, and Shokz. The OpenFit 2 Plus feature an ear hook design similar to the Powerbeats Pro 2, but instead of going inside your ear, they sit right above your ear canal. The latest model is nearly identical to their predecessor, which debuted earlier this year; however, the 2 Plus add wireless charging and Dolby Audio support. If you don’t need either of those features, you can grab the original OpenFit 2 for an all-time low of around $119.95 ($60 off) from Amazon, Best Buy, and Shokz.
The Anker Soundcore AeroFit 2 also feature an ear hook design, and they’re currently down to an all-time low of $69.99 ($60 off) at Amazon, Walmart, and Soundcore’s website (with code WS24A3874BF). These sit above your ear canal and use directional audio to guide sound toward your ear, helping to minimize sound leakage. That means someone sitting next to you won’t hear your holiday playlist. The AeroFit 2 also offer free AI translation in over 100 languages, with real-time response, and Soundcore claims the earbuds can get up to 10 hours of continuous playtime on a single charge.

The holidays are a great time to see family, exchange gifts, and enjoy a good meal. It’s also the perfect time to gather around a TV and catch up on must-see shows and movies. Vince Gilligan’s Pluribus is a fantastic new sci-fi series, while Hulu is the only place you can catch the buzzy Alien: Earth. Thankfully, multiple streaming services are offering big discounts on subscriptions for Black Friday, helping to mitigate the many price hikes that have swept the industry in 2025.
Right now, for instance, you can sign up for six months of Apple TV for just $5.99 a month, which is over 50 percent off the usual price. You can also snag a year of HBO Max with ads for $2.99 a month, saving you nearly $100 over the course of 12 months. These aren’t the only deals, either. We’ve rounded up a selection of other streaming discounts below. Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear Netflix — which is the only place you can catch the latest season of Stranger Things — is participating in Black Friday this year. Maybe next time.
You can entertain both parents and kids with a subscription to Hulu and Disney Plus. Now through December 1st, new and returning subscribers can get an annual ad-supported subscription to both streaming services for just $4.99 a month ($8 off), saving you nearly $100 over 12 months. If you’d rather not have ads interrupting episodes of Bluey — trust me, there’s no quicker way to make your toddler throw a Muffin-level tantrum — you can also get an annual ad-free subscription to Hulu and Disney Plus for $14.99 per month ($5 off), saving you a cool $60 over the course of a year.
Both discounted plans provide access to TV shows and movies from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and the Star Wars franchise. Over on Hulu, you can watch Hulu originals like The Handmaid’s Tale and classics like Gilmore Girls, along with The Bear, Alien: Earth, and the latest season of King of the Hill. You’ll also get access to holiday favorites, including Home Alone, The Santa Clause, and The Polar Express. You can watch everything offline with the ad-free tier, too, which is handy when you don’t have access to a consistent cellular or Wi-Fi connection, like when you’re stuck at the airport.
Sports fans can also throw ESPN Unlimited into the mix with discounts on ad-supported and ad-free bundles, which you can choose from the drop-down menu when selecting your plan. A subscription to the Disney Plus, Hulu, and ESPN Ultimate Bundle is up to 44 percent off for Black Friday, with an annual ad-supported bundle available for $29.99 a month, down from $53.97 per month. Meanwhile, you can grab the same bundle without ads for $38.99 a month for a year (about $29 off). For those who need a refresher, ESPN Unlimited provides access to all ESPN networks and ESPN Plus, with sports like NFL, NBA, MLB, and more.
If you’re in the mood for prestige television, HBO Max is offering one of the best Black Friday deals we’ve seen this year. New and returning subscribers can sign up for an annual subscription to HBO Max with ads for $2.99 a month ($8 off) through December 1st, saving you about $100 over 12 months. Like Apple TV, HBO Max received yet another price hike about a month ago, so this deal is particularly welcome right now.
It’s worth noting that the deal provides access to HBO Max Basic, which only allows you to stream TV shows and movies in HD quality on up to two screens at once. If you prefer to watch in 4K, you’ll need to step up to a Premium subscription, which costs $22.99 per month and is currently not on sale. Bah, humbug! No matter which tier you go with, though, you’ll be able to watch TV shows like House of the Dragon, The Last of Us, and It: Welcome to Derry. On the movie front, you can stream James Gunn’s Superman and the horror sensation Weapons.
Apple TV is home to TV shows like Ted Lasso, The Studio, Pluribus, and Severance, and it’s the only place you’ll be able to stream Joseph Kosinski’s F1 when it drops on December 12th. And if you have a taste for the sport, Apple TV will also be the exclusive home for Formula 1 racing beginning in 2026. In other words, it’s a great time to subscribe, especially now that new and returning subscribers can lock in six months of the service at just $5.99 a month ($7 off). Apple raised the monthly subscription price of its streaming service a few months ago, so this Black Friday deal is a great way to save.
Before the price hike hits Paramount Plus early next year, you can save for Black Friday. Now through December 2nd, new and returning subscribers can sign up for any plan for two months for just $2.99 a month (up to $10 off). No matter which tier you choose, you’ll get access to over 40,000 TV shows and movies, including the latest seasons of Landman and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, along with movies like The Naked Gun reboot and Sonic the Hedgehog 3. A subscription also includes a few Showtime titles, like the original Dexter, as well as live sports, including every single UEFA Champions League game and select NFL games.
If you opt for the Premium Plan, you’ll be granted access to the full Showtime library, which includes TV shows like Dexter: Resurrection, every season of Yellowjackets, and movies like The Substance, Talk to Me, Gladiator II, and Top Gun: Maverick. A Premium plan also provides support for streaming select titles in 4K UHD with Dolby Vision or HDR10 Plus, 24/7 live CBS news via your local station, and the ability to download shows and movies for offline viewing.
HBO Max is down to $2.99 a month ($8 off) for 12 months, saving you nearly $100 on an annual subscription.
A six-month subscription to Apple TV is going for $5.99 ($7 off) a month through December 1st, saving you a total of $42 over the course of the promo window.
Now through December 1st, you get two months of Starz for $2.75 a month instead of $5.99, which equates to about $9 in savings.
The ad-supported version of AMC Plus is down to $1.75 a month for two months instead of $6.99 (a total of about $11 off). Meanwhile, AMC Plus Premium is available for $2.50 a month for two months, saving you about $15 during the promo period.
You can grab two months of MGM Plus for $1.99 a month instead of $7.99 (a total of $12 off).
Now through December 1st, Hallmark Plus is available for $2 a month for two months, saving you about $12 with the promo.
If you want two months of Crunchyroll, you can currently sign up for $2.99 a month instead of $11.99 (a total of $18 off).
PBS Kids is available for $1.25 a month for two months instead of $4.99 (a total of about $7 off). You can also save on PBS Documentaries, which is down to $1.25 a month for two months instead of $4.99, saving you about $7.
If you watch a lot of live TV, there will be plenty to watch over the holidays, including the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and a handful of NFL games on Thanksgiving. And now through January 4th, you can get a YouTube TV Base Plan for $72.99 a month ($10 off) for the first three months.
A YouTube TV Base Plan includes over 100 live channels and all the perks the service has to offer, including unlimited DVR space and up to six household accounts with three simultaneous streams. You also get special features during live sports, like a stats view and the ability to quickly catch up on important highlights you might have missed. And, yes, the YouTube TV Base Plan includes ESPN and other Disney-owned channels, which are back on the service following a two-week outage.
You can also save on NFL Sunday Ticket through December 1st, either by adding it to your YouTube TV Base Plan or getting a season pass by itself. No matter which option you choose, NFL Sunday Ticket is $12 a month for four months or $48 for an annual pass. A subscription provides all out-of-market Sunday regular season games from every NFL team.
You can get a Starz subscription for $2.99 ($8 off) for the first three months or an annual subscription for $23.99 ($46 off). The streaming service features a variety of shows and movies, including John Wick: Chapter 4, the John Wick spinoff Ballerina, and shows like Blood of My Blood and Hostile Takeover. Both plans allow you to stream on up to four devices simultaneously and download content for offline viewing.
If you’re a diehard sports fan, you can save up to $30 on a month of Fubo TV. The streaming service is offering discounts across its four tiers, including Fubo TV Elite, which is down to $64.99 ($30 off) for one month. After that, it goes back up to the regular price of $94.99 per month. The Elite plan provides access to 277 channels and includes ESPN Unlimited, ABC, CBS, and Fox, along with local NBA, NHL, and MLB games — all in glorious 4K. All of the plans come with unlimited Cloud DVR space at no extra cost, while three of the four (except the Latino plan) can stream on up to 10 devices simultaneously.
If you want your house to be the one everyone slows down to look at this holiday season, Philips Hue’s Festavia lights can make that happen. They aren’t cheap, but thanks to an early Black Friday sale at Amazon, you can pick up a 65-foot string for $145.19 (about $97 off) or a 130-foot strand for around $237.60 (about $158 off), which is the lowest price we’ve seen on either strand since they were first introduced.
The Festavia lights are impressive holiday string lights, boasting rich colors, individually addressable LEDs, and a variety of magical preset scenes that combine to create an effect that outshines most rivals. What’s great is you can use them indoors and outdoors thanks to their IP54 rating, so if you don’t want to decorate your porch or walkway, you can use them to dress up your Christmas tree or stair rails.
The lights will work over Bluetooth, but with a Hue Bridge or newer Bridge Pro, you can take things even further with automations and the ability to sync the lights with your music. They also play nicely with other Philips Hue gear — like color-changing light strips, spotlights, and bulbs — so you can create a festive light show that’ll dazzle the neighbors. As a bonus, you can set schedules in the easy-to-use mobile app, so the lights can turn on and off even when you’re not home. And because they support Matter, they work with all major smart home platforms, including Alexa, Google Home, and Apple Home.
If you’re looking for something more affordable or additional size options, Govee’s Christmas Lights 2 are also on sale right now. You can grab a 66-foot strand from Amazon and Govee for $63.99 ($36 off), or a 99-foot strand for $11 more (Amazon / Govee). The longer 164-foot set is also available for $129.99 ($70 off) from Amazon and Govee, while the 328-foot string can be had for $249.99 ($150 off) at Amazon and Govee’s online storefront. As for how these prices stack up to prior sales, these are the best we’ve seen, regardless of strand length.
Like the Festavia, the Lights 2 support Matter and can be safely used indoors or outside thanks to their IP65 rating. However, the included power adapter is only IP44-rated, and the LEDs use drop-style heads rather than bullet heads, which is fine for the roof but not nearly as striking on a Christmas tree. Govee’s companion app isn’t as intuitive as Philips Hue’s, either, and the Festavia lights still offer a better selection of preset scenes.
Dreame’s X40 Ultra is over half off for Black Friday.
Robot vacuums show up in our gift guides almost every year, and it’s easy to understand why: they clean, they save time, and they’re cheaper than hiring a professional. But not all robovacs are created equal, and some save more time than others. The Dreame X40 Ultra is one of those, offering a more genuinely hands-free cleaning experience than what you typically get. And now through December 1st, it’s down to a new low of $499.99 ($700 off) at Amazon, Best Buy, and directly from Dreame.
If you’re looking for a great robot vacuum that also does a fantastic job of mopping, the last-gen X40 Ultra is one of the best we’ve tested. With 12,000Pa of suction power, it does a great job of sucking up dirt and debris. It even comes with AI-powered smart dirt detection, which uses onboard cameras to spot particularly dirty areas, then slows down and passes over them multiple times until they’re thoroughly cleaned.
Its dual oscillating mop pads also do a fantastic job on hardwood floors, even extending into edges and under cabinets. It can also automatically detach and reattach its mop pads when switching to vacuuming, so your carpets stay dry. In fact, it repeats this process multiple times throughout a cleaning cycle to ensure carpets are vacuumed and hard floors are mopped properly.
What’s more, the robovac doesn’t require much babysitting; it maps rooms effectively, and its AI-assisted obstacle avoidance navigates around larger items like shoes with ease. Plus, the X40 Ultra can empty its own dustbin, refill its water tank, and clean its washboard — and its mop pads can even wash and dry themselves.
We’re on the cusp of Black Friday, and while TVs and laptop deals get all the glory, practical gadgets are already on sale too. Fanttik’s X8 portable tire inflator is down to $69.99 ($40 off), an all-time low price at Amazon. Fanttik’s deal is only available for Amazon Prime subscribers.
The X8 is a battery-powered tire inflator for bicycles, motorcycles, and cars. It’s powerful enough to fill a 26.3-inch medium-sized car tire in under a minute, and its LCD screen displays the tire’s current pressure in realtime. Fanttik says the X8’s battery lasts up to 40 minutes, and can continuously fill 16 tires without having to cool down. You can operate the tire inflator manually, or use one of its presets to automate the process. Fanttik includes a car charger and case with the X8 for easy storage.
Microsoft’s latest Surface Laptop offers beautiful hardware and starts at just $549.99.
If you’re a Windows user looking for something that comes close to Apple’s latest MacBook Air, Microsoft’s newest 13-inch Surface Laptop — officially called the Surface Laptop 13-inch 1st Edition with Snapdragon — is a great option. Right now, you can pick up the model with an 8-core Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus processor, 16GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage for $549.99 ($350 off) at Amazon, Best Buy, and directly from Microsoft, which marks a new all-time low.
Microsoft Surface Laptop, 13-inch
Microsoft’s slightly smaller, entry-level Surface Laptop trims some of the size and a few features from its bigger 13.8-inch counterpart, but it maintains excellent battery life and solid performance. Read our review.
The Surface Laptop is more than capable of powering through a 12-hour day and handling typical productivity tasks with ease. The laptop offers impressive standby times, too, while the quiet, tactile keyboard is a pleasure to type on, and some might even prefer it to the MacBook Air’s. The mechanical trackpad isn’t haptic, but clicks still feel surprisingly well-defined and crisp. You also get a sharp 1080p webcam, two USB-C 3.2 ports, and one USB-A 3.1 port.
Granted, the laptop won’t keep up with the M4-powered MacBook Air in creative apps or gaming, but lighter titles like Vampire Survivors and Balatro run just fine. The 3:2 display is also well-suited for both work and play, and the four-speaker setup is perfectly adequate for streaming shows and listening to music. There’s even a 3.5mm combo audio jack if you prefer wired headphones.
Electronic Arts’ Battlefield 6 is still relatively hot off the presses, having just launched in October. But thanks to Black Friday, you can pick up a copy on the PlayStation 5 for just $52.99 ($17 off) at Amazon. The price has also dropped at Best Buy to $59.99 ($10 off) for PS5 and Xbox Series X, giving you more ways to shop.
With a lot on the line for EA, Battlefield 6 is off to a pretty good start, becoming the best-selling title in the franchise’s history. Considering how fiercely competitive the online shooter space is, that’s good news after 2021’s Battlefield 2042 failed to meet expectations. While reactions to Battlefield 6’s single-player campaign have been lukewarm, the multiplayer component is the real draw. One of the biggest focuses this year is on environmental destruction, which adds to the chaos of large-scale battles.
Beyond Battlefield 6 proper, EA has also launched Battlefield Redsec, a separate free-to-play battle royale mode, which takes place on a huge map called Fort Lyndon. In addition, EA has sketched out ambitious plans for Battlefield 6, Season 1, which includes additional content like a new map, a new 4v4 multiplayer mode, and a new vehicle, among other updates. EA says it is also launching a Winter Offensive update on December 9th, which will include special seasonal themed content.
Earlier this year, I reviewed the Fractal Scape, a wireless gaming headset made for PC (also compatible with Switch 2) that really wowed me. Frankly, I wasn’t expecting much in this debut headset from a company known mostly for making PC cases, but it’s one of the most thoughtfully-designed models that I’ve tried recently.
If you’re in the market for an elegant headset that sounds great and docks to recharge (keeping cable clutter to a minimum on your desk), I suggest checking out the Black Friday special on the Scape. Amazon has the black and gray models available for $169.99, which is $30 off the usual price. Walmart, B&H Photo, and Newegg are also honoring this price.
The Scape doesn’t do it all; it lacks active noise cancellation, it can’t pair via 2.4GHz and Bluetooth simultaneously, and its ear cups don’t swivel. That all would have been nice, but I’m still eager to recommend it for its great sound quality, sharp Scandinavian design, and because its browser-based settings customization is very good. Also, I have a soft spot for its Digital Crown-like knob used for adjusting volume and for pausing or skipping songs. At $170, it’s hard to do better than the Scape.
